Multimedia Centre
of the Town of Rovinj

MMC opened its doors in September 2006. It has hosted over 70 cultural manifestations. In collaboration with the Croatian Association of Designers and Adris grupa, it is the host of the third consecutive Croatian Designers' Convention. The project “Shoemaking in Rovinj” has enriched our layout, and we hosted the exhibition of the Ethnographic Museum from Zagreb Koje dobre šuze! Ma ke lipe pastole! Ma che belle scarpe! Such great shoes! In collaboration with the gallery Klovićevi dvori, the exhibition 10+1 presented the following eleven top Croatian children's illustrators to the Istrian public: Z.Balog, M.Hajdinjak Kreč, S.Junaković, A.Kadoić, D.Kolanović, A. Petrlik Huseinović, V. Radoičić, S.Rešćek, T.Tomić, M.Vladić Maštruko, and T.Torjanac.

At the beginning of 2008, MMC hosted a big exhibition of small and miniature ceramics Lilliput Ceramics that presented 319 artists from 72 countries worldwide. In 2007, academic sculptor Mirko Zrinščak had a solo at the MMC, with more upcoming solos in 2008 by Croatian contemporary artists Danijel Kovač, Svjetlan Junaković, and Aleksandar Garbin.

Together with visual art events, MMC has also organized other cultural programmes-promotions, lectures, presentations, film screenings, concerts, and dance evenings.

Jazz concerts are MMC’s trademark, with guest performances by Tamara Obrovac, Elvis Stanić Group, Meri Trošelj, Valerija Nikolovska, Suzana Horvat, Karen Asatrian & Armenian spirit, Darko Jurković Charlie and others, while guests of the funny talk show “Dobre vibracije na šiljku” were Tarik Filipović, Žarko Radić, Sandra Bagarić, Darko Domitrović, Roberta Razzi, and Lino Červar.

We have a very fruitful collaboration with all institutions in the Town and the Region. Our users of all ages, languages, and colours have reached the number of 35.000 in a very short time.
